Recently, a friend lent me Serenity. I wasn't that eager to watch it; I had a lot of stuff to do. I ended up starting the movie at something like 12:30 am.
As you can see, I am posting this at 5 am same morning (after watching, then re-watching key scenes, pausing, screenshotting like mad). I would simply like to communicate:
OH MY F**KING GOD SCIFIGASM TO THE NYAAAAAAAAAARGH AND GYEEEEEEEEEE AND AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHNNNG.
Perhaps it is true that in the wee hours of the morning I am more easily emotionally affected, and more excitable. We will see when I read this tomorrow, awake, whether I'm still rolling on the floor frothing at the mouth.
The movie is BEAUTIFUL.
Freaking BEAUTIFUL. It is a triumph of GORGEOUS costume design, FANTASTIC special effects and spaceship scenes, DELICIOUS post-processing and image manipulation, LUSCIOUS worldbuilding (or rather 'versebuilding), MIND BOGGLING story arrangement - just the way they put it together, out of order and setting each piece in place just as it's needed, with tantalizing hints of backstory without being obvious... nyuuuuuurgh! - and, oh yeah, an awesome and unconventional plot and premise! I writhe in ecstasy! Serenity has immediately replaced the title as Favorite SciFi Movie Ever Hands Down, and I can't even remember what movie held the title before that since the gamma-heavy glowy awesomeness of Serenity is just blinding my memory.
Seriously, I am literally CHOKED UP just thinking about the awesometude.
Those who know me know how cheap I am and how I will almost always download a movie rather than buy it... well... I'm gonna buy the DVD of this. And that is MAJORLY saying something. (I'm also gonna find DVDs of Firefly and watch the whole show. Does anyone know how many seasons it ran before it was OH SO CRUELLY cancelled?)
...Yeah... this journal doesn't have anything to do with art... I just... needed to get that off my chest. xD If you haven't seen Serenity, FREAKING WATCH IT WATCH IT WATCH IT NOWWWWWWW.

If I could, then I would.
I like your art very much! I'm currently in a development of a freeware SF game.
